Catherine Harrison Balestra, MD

Catherine Harrison Balestra, MD is a Miami native who earned her undergraduate degree from Princeton University.  She completed medical school at the University of Miami and received multiple accolades including the Alpha Omega Alpha (medical honor society) honors and the "Best Student in Dermatology" award.

Dr. Balestra received her Dermatology residency training also at the University of Miami and completed her specialization in Mohs surgery in 2008.  Dr. Balestra is a board certified Dermatologist and a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery.   She is voluntary faculty of the University of Miami Department of Dermatology where she teaches and lectures to residents. 

   

Andrea Chen, MD

Andrea Chen, MD

Dr. Andrea Chen is a board-certified dermatologist.  She performs Mohs micrographic surgery, cosmetic surgical procedures and laser dermatologic procedures and practices general dermatology.

Dr. Chen obtained a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and graduated with honors. She received her MD from New York University, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Additionally, she conducted research in melanoma at the University of Louisville and co-authored several papers.

After completing an internship in internal medicine at the University of Louisville in Kentucky, Dr. Chen moved to Florida to serve her residency in dermatology at the University of Miami. There, she received an award for excellence in resident teaching, and participated in research on the healing of chronic leg wounds.

Dr. Chen followed her residency with a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology.

Dr. Chen is board certified in dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow-elect of the American College of Mohs Surgery. 

   

Marianna Helin, ARNP

Marianna comes to us from MIT where she practiced dermatology for the last several years (in fact she was the only dermatology provider for the 25,000 patients under this health plan.) She has over 10 years of experience in dermatology and is a Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner.  She is from Finland and loves opera.
