note from AAD 2015:  Lido with Epi is class b during pregnancy. Epi decreases placental transfer of lidocaine so even better with Epi

 

hmtoggle_plus1lidocaine toxicity:
•lidocaine with epinephrine (epinephrine 1:100,000) – max dose = 7mg/kg  (~ 50cc)
•plain lidocaine – max dose = 4.5mg/kg (~ 30cc)
•(lidocaine 1% = 10mg/cc)
•symptoms of lidocaine toxicity = perioral numbness, light headedness, tinnitus
•treatment for lidocaine allergy --> benadryl
