ARTHROPODS includes the classes: crustacea (crabs, shrimp,lobster), insecta, arachnida and others

 

 

Arachnida:

a class of arthropods; eight legs (some larval forms have six)
include:  scorpions, spiders, mites, ticks

mites:

Sarcoptes scabiei
Demodex folliculorum

 

chigger a bloodsucking stage of mites that includes the vector for scrub typhus

 

 

 

Insecta:

the insects, the largest class of the phylum Arthropoda
possess three pairs of jointed legs, and often two pairs of wings
