AKA asymmetric periflexural exanthem of childhood
young children
often mild URI or GI symptoms precede rash
discrete 1mm erythematous papule that coalesce to poorly marginated morbilliform plaques
lesions begin unilaterally, usually the axilla
contralateral side involved in 70% but the asymmetric nature is maintained throughout the illness
lasts 2 to 6 weeks (>2 months reported)
