hmtoggle_plus1CLA (cutaneous lymphocyte antigen):
directs T-cell homing to skin
it is an adhesion molecule that initiates the initial tethering of T-cells to the endothelium in cutaneous post-capillary venules
CLA positive Tcells represent 10-15% of all circulating T-cells in peripheral blood
(these T-cells may be positive for either CD4 or CD8, and once activated , they may be capable of producing either type 1 or type 2 T-cell cytokines)

hmtoggle_plus1E-selectin:
the counter receptor to CLA; expressed on endothelial cells
expressed constitutively at low levels on cutaneous microvessels
its expression is strongly up-regulated during cutaneous inflammation
the preferential expression of E-selectin in skin helps select for CLA+ T-cells under both normal and inflammatory conditions

hmtoggle_plus1TCR (CD3):
T-cell receptors
heterodimeric proteins composed of α/β or δ/γ chains
encoded by 4 genes containing a large number of discrete genetic elements that recombine during intrathymic differentiation generating an almost unlimited repertoire of T-cell receptors
