for a quick answer, can do mycobacteria pcr off of paraffin block from ameripath H&E

(probably have to call him to get that done - he mentioned code 90870?)

 

Treatment:

M. marinum: (treat 12 to 24 weeks; or at least 4 to 8 weeks after disappearance of lesions)

•minocycline 100mg BID
•ethambutol 25 mg/kg/day plus rifampin 600mg qd
•clarithromycin 500mg PO BID  (can be given with minocycline)
•(often multiple antibiotic regimens are recommended and these recommendations change over time, so look up current recommendation or call ID for their recommendation)
