For many of us, a loss of facial fat and a weakening or sagging of the facial structure is a natural byproduct of the aging process.
We get great results with Botox and injectable fillers in restoring volume and lift to the upper two thirds of the face – namely, in the cheeks, under-eye region, and the forehead and temples.
For patients with sagging in the jawline and the neck, however, the most effective treatment until now has been a surgical procedure, such as a facelift. That’s why Novathreads is nothing short of a game changer for patients looking to avoid surgical options.
Novathreads are comprised of Polydioxanone (PDO), a synthetic, absorbable surgical suture that has been widely used to assist in performing open heart surgeries and other cardiothoracic procedures.
When used as a cosmetic procedure, it works by inducing healthy, new collagen production in the skin, effectively lifting and tightening the underlying skin tissue.
After Novathreads are injected into the targeted treatment area, they will become fully absorbed into the body within 4 to 6 months and will leave zero scar tissue.
The results speak for themselves, as you will see in these before and after pictures of patients who have undergone the Novathreads procedure:

Novathreads is an ideal treatment to lift and tighten the lower third of the face, as well as the neck. It does not, however, address submental fat – aka the dreaded “double chin”. To get rid of a double chin, we would likely recommend Kybella prior to the Novathreads tightening procedure.
Kybella is a non-invasive treatment we perform in our office that destroys submental fat cells. Like Novathreads, this procedure is a game-changer. It is the first procedure that destroys these fat cells.
