Dr. Mariya Miteva

Dr. Mariya Miteva is a dermatologist and dermatopathologist, currently holding the position of Associate Professor at the Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology, University of Miami.

Her main expertise involves the evaluation and management of hair and scalp disorders referred to as “hair loss” or “Alopecia” in Hollywood, FL. She is one of the leading experts in hair loss and hair pathology on a national and international level.

She is the editor of two books on Dermatopathology and Alopecia and over 12 book chapters on skin and hair disorders. Over the course of her career she has taught over 50 fellows from across the world, residents, visiting physicians, and medical students. She has been awarded the “Best Teacher” award by the residents for outstanding teaching for 3 years in a row and was the recipient of the first UM Faculty council award for best Clinical educator (2018).

She has been an invited speaker for domestic and international lectures every year for the last 10 years and has organized and participated in international courses on Trichology.
