RAZOR BUMPS (Pseudofolliculitis)
One effective but under-used treatment for this condition is laser. Razor bumps (or “pseudofolliculitis”) can occur on a man’s neck or a woman’s bikini area, but it only seems to affect people with coarse hair. This is because “razor bumps” are due to coarse, sharp hairs re-piercing the skin. When the area is treated with a laser, the hair will grow back thinner and lighter. This subtle change is enough to dramatically relieve the condition after only one or two treatments.
